Mirabilis - Year of Wonders

Mike Toris was born in 1981 in Athens, Greece. His artistic leanings first became evident in his early years, when his favourite lesson was Art Class. During every spare moment he passionately reproduced images of Asterix, Iznogood and Spider-Man.

His talent came into the light in 1999, when he designed the Spring Break banner for his school. After that, he dabbled for a short time in I.T. all the time wondering what he was doing there. Deciding to return to his first love, he went to AKTO Art & Design, from where he graduated with first class honours in 2005, and since 2008 he has done professional illustration for the Greek advertising agency JNL+. He also published, for a while, his comic series ''The Campus'', in Webcomics.gr, a project he wrote, penciled, inked and coloured and that he wants to continue some day.

For the past couple of years, he has been assisting Nikos Koutsis, his former teacher at AKTO, on most of his projects. He does the digital inks for Unep's Ozzy Ozone comics and flat colours for Erik Larsen's ''Savage Dragon'', Blue Waters' ''the Imaginaries'' and of course ''Mirabilis''.
